Translating Deco*27’s “Love Calender”: “1+1=1” and “RT”

So being the Deco*27 fanatic I am, I of course can’t stop listening to or singing all the songs on Deco*27’s “Love Calender”. Us Deco*27 fans were already acquainted with many of the headline songs in the album by the time it was released, including “Egomama“, “Light Lag“, “Sandglass“, “Love Distance Long Affair“, and of course the pre-release of “Taking Sweet Shelter” and “Heart’s Homing Instinct“. While all these songs are amazing (and have been translated by either me or someone else), I think it’s important to help provide Deco*27 fans who bought the album with translations and romaji lyrics (dat singalong) for the album original songs. So while I’m just getting started with this, today I will be bringing you the first two tracks on the album, Deco*27’s “1+1=1” and “RT”, both sung by Topi in her beautiful voice. In these two songs we will experience the very beginnings of the relationship between Kouki and Shiori (as named by Deco*27) as they admit their feelings to each other and experience that adrenalin-pumping rush of first-love as captured so vividly in “RT”. As the months go on, it’s not all going to be so happy and easy, but for now we can enjoy those wonderful and innocent feelings of their joyous beginning.

Note: Deco*27 makes its a point to let you know who is singing in each song by highlighting the lyrics in either pink (Shiori) or blue (Kouki). Some songs are equally divided and some are entirely from one perspective. I’ll be sure to point it out for each song.

In another interesting note, Love Calender is actually being adapted into a manga being released in Japan. Word has it that the Deco*27 staff is looking into creating an English translation. So I’ll be sure to pass the info along as soon as I hear it.
